The short version
- We use information to provide the service you request, protect a case, communicate with participants and maintain reliable records.
- Stripe hosts payment-method setup and identity capture. ProvenPet does not copy raw ID or selfie files into its own portal database.
- Live payment and identity steps are completed on Stripe’s secure hosted pages. Do not send card details or identity documents by email, text message or ordinary website forms.
- You can ask about access, correction, deletion or a non-biometric alternative at info@provenpet.net.
Information we collect
Contact and account information
This can include your name, email address, phone number, wait-list preferences, account sign-in records and communications with us.
Case and transaction information
This can include the buyer and seller roles, animal and listing details, proposed price, selected verification package, designated payer, consent records, case status and provider references.
Animal records and files you choose to provide
This can include animal photos, veterinary or registration records, microchip information, scanner-display captures, videos, reminders and other records submitted for a case or ProvenPet Life.
Technical and security information
We use limited device, browser, IP-derived, session and audit information to authenticate participants, prevent link sharing and fraud, diagnose problems and preserve the integrity of case actions.
Stripe payment and Identity
ProvenPet uses Stripe-hosted pages to save a payment method and, when enabled for the case, to verify an identity document and matching live selfie. Stripe can collect identity-document and facial images, ID numbers, addresses, device information and fraud signals. Stripe processes and stores that information on ProvenPet’s behalf and also uses information as described in Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
ProvenPet’s portal database keeps the Stripe session reference, participant role, consent version, verification status, timestamps, limited error information and security-audit metadata. We do not copy the raw identity-document images, document number, date of birth or selfie files into the ProvenPet portal database. Authorized personnel may be able to access provider-held information in Stripe when reasonably necessary for support, fraud review, legal compliance or a privacy request.
Stripe Identity can use biometric technology for the document-and-selfie match. If you do not consent, cannot use the supported documents or believe a result is wrong, email info@provenpet.net to request help or an available non-biometric/manual alternative. An alternative may take longer and may require different evidence; it will not be represented as a Stripe-verified result.
How we use and share information
We use information to create and operate cases, confirm participant access, process the selected service, perform the checks within a package, provide support, send service messages, maintain ProvenPet Life records, improve reliability and comply with law.
We share information only as needed with the other role in a case, authorized ProvenPet reviewers, service providers that support hosting, storage, communications, payment or identity verification, and authorities or other parties when required by law or needed to protect people, animals, rights or the service. Private contact details and sensitive provider data are not made public. We do not sell personal information for money.
Retention and deletion
Portal evidence uploads are scheduled to expire after 90 days unless they are deleted sooner. A verification report has its own displayed validity period; necessary case, consent, payment-reference, audit and security records may be retained longer for the purposes described above and as required by law. ProvenPet Life records remain available while the service or account requires them, subject to applicable deletion obligations.
Stripe says it typically stores submitted non-biometric Identity information for three years and removes biometric identifiers within one year, subject to consent choices, legal requirements and permitted exceptions. To request access, correction or deletion, contact info@provenpet.net. We will verify the requester, evaluate legal and fraud-prevention obligations, and where appropriate request redaction of the Stripe VerificationSession and delete ProvenPet-held copies. Stripe says its session-redaction process can take up to four days.
Your choices and security
You can unsubscribe from launch emails, decide whether to begin a case, decline an Identity session before submission and request privacy help. Some information is necessary to complete a verification or maintain a reliable transaction record; if it cannot be used, ProvenPet may be unable to complete that service.
We use role-bound sessions, limited-access storage, signed provider notifications and audit records to protect the service. No online system is risk-free, so please use only the secure portal and never send identity documents or payment details by ordinary email.
Updates and contact
We may revise this notice as the pilot and mobile app develop. Material changes will be dated here and, when appropriate, presented for renewed consent before a sensitive step.
